On August 19, 2026, THRN released its first original four-track concept album, Fourfold Solitude. The record is the result of nearly a year of work: its ideas, arrangements, recordings and complete production all took their final form in my home studio.
Four tracks. Four states of isolation. Four internal fractures.

Four Different Faces of Isolation
The album does not tell a single linear story. Its four songs approach the same fundamental experience from different directions: alienation, memory, perseverance and the internal silence that eventually does more than surround a person — it begins to reshape them.

The album contains two songs in English and two in Hungarian. Comet and Endless Road are performed in English, while Éterhang and Senki Sem Vár are in Hungarian. The two languages do not divide the record; they are two different ways of expressing the same dark and personal world.
Darkwave / Gothic Rock / Industrial
THRN's sound is defined by three primary directions:
Fourfold Solitude is the first complete manifestation of this hybrid. Synth-driven, cinematic atmospheres meet gothic rock guitars, industrial textures and deep baritone vocals. The aim was not to follow the rules of a single genre, but to create a unified sound in which electronic and organic elements carry the same emotional weight.
The songs began with my own melodic ideas. Throughout the creative process, I rebuilt, expanded and developed them into their final arrangements. Many individual elements went through several versions before finding their place on the record. This is why completing four songs took nearly a year: I did not simply want to place a collection of tracks next to one another. I wanted to create a connected and instantly recognizable world.
The Sound of a Home Studio
Fourfold Solitude was created entirely in my home studio. A Steinberg UR12 audio interface formed the centre of the recording setup. I used an Audio-Technica AT2020 and a Shure SM7B to record the lead vocals and their additional layers.
The guitar parts were performed on a Spider LP-202 electric guitar equipped with EMG-HZ pickups and recorded through a modeled signal chain. The bass parts were recorded with an Ibanez SR300 IPT bass guitar, while a Flatsons KB-25 Mini MIDI keyboard helped shape the synthesizer parts and the musical foundations of the songs.
This was not a commercial studio with an unlimited collection of equipment. As a result, every decision carried weight: microphone placement, the tone of the guitar, the density of a synthesizer layer and the amount of silence that needed to remain in a particular moment.
The home environment ultimately became part of the record's identity rather than a compromise. The personal themes of Fourfold Solitude belonged more naturally in this closed and controlled space than they would have in the sterile surroundings of an unfamiliar studio.
Vlad Sartor and THRN
Vlad Sartor is the artist behind THRN. The concept of the project began to take shape three or four years ago, and I have been writing songs and lyrics for it ever since, gradually developing its sound, identity and direction.
About a year ago, the idea finally crystallized: Fourfold Solitude would become THRN's first original album. The four tracks were selected and developed to form the opening chapter of a much larger body of work.
The record is not a conclusion. It is a starting point — the foundation of a sound in which the dark electronics of darkwave, the emotional weight of gothic rock and the raw character of industrial music become a world of their own.
